Across the Centuries!
Four Hundred Years of Jewish Music

Nashirah: The Jewish Chorale of Greater Philadelphia
presented its Inaugural Concert
on Sunday, June 5, 2005
in the Elaine C. Levitt Auditorium
at the Gershman 'Y'
The
concert featured choral works reflecting four centuries of Jewish musical
heritage. From the haunting melodies of Renaissance Italy to the joy of
the contemporary Jewish American experience, Nashirah presented the works of
Salomone Rossi, Franz Schubert, Samuel Naumbourg, Stephen Glass, Aaron Copland,
Leonard Bernstein, and more.
