Nashirah's
mission is to bring Jewish choral music of the highest caliber to the community.
Nashirah is dedicated to achieving the highest degree of musicianship, infusing
performance with passion.
Nashirah's leadership and singers believe that
bringing this most beautiful of art forms to our audiences helps unite the
Jewish community, while fostering understanding and creativity between the
Jewish, secular, and other religious communities. According to Cynthia G.
Silber, M.D., President of the Board of Directors, "Nashirah is poised to
make a tremendous contribution to the Jewish cultural community, and to the
Philadelphia cultural community at large, by applying the highest standards of
musicianship to a broad range of Jewish repertoire.
Nashirah
was formed in late 2002 and incorporated as a not-for-profit cultural
organization in 2003.
