Policies

I will
support the mission
of Nashirah: the Jewish Chorale of Greater Philadelphia. In addition,
I am committed to improving my voice, my musicianship, and the overall
quality of Nashirah to the best of my ability.

I will pay annual dues of $125.
-
I will attend all rehearsals,
with all assigned material prepared in advance, and be ready to sing five
(5) minutes before the start of rehearsal.

The artistic consistency and
cohesiveness of the ensemble is of utmost importance. No releases of any
kind will be granted for first rehearsals, dress rehearsals, or
performances. Release requests are approved only under extreme
circumstances, at the discretion of the Artistic Director.

I will submit release requests
in advance to the Artistic Director for approval. I understand that if I
am absent more than twice in a half-year period, it may result in my being
required to re-audition with the Artistic Director on the performance
material before being allowed to sing the performances. The Artistic
Director may make a determination as to whether I may continue with the
ensemble, and under what circumstances.

I understand that if I do not
continue as a member of the ensemble for any reason before the season is
finished, the annual dues is non-refundable.

I will be responsible for any
music rehearsed during my absences, and will contact another member of my
section to obtain rehearsal notes and markings from the missed session.

Men and women must own, or have
access to, formal performance dress as needed; this consists of long black
dress/skirt for women and tuxedoes for men.
** Please resolve any conflicts
with the published rehearsal schedule before committing to Nashirah.
